Earthquake Probabilities for North and South America - PR>1

2013-09-29 20:10:13 Admin Earthquake Probabilities

Please note that the above earthquake probabilities are derived from correlation with the day of the lunar month for which past events occurred in each region for Phase Ratio (PR) >1 - the lunar day numbering adopted assumes that lunar day 7 is the New Moon, day 14 is the First Quarter, day 21 is the Full Moon and day 28 is the Last Quarter. In some months the time between each phase may be more than 7 days in which case reference is made to the Observer Latitude calendar to decide which lunar number needs to be duplicated  (this occurs when there is minimal change in Observer Latitude over 2 day period.- the relevant lunar day is given on the 48 hr dynamic earthquake forecasts (3rd column) This table is for PR>1 when the majority of earthquake events occur close to the Full Moon and New Moon which was the situation prior to September 15th 2013 in N/S America. (this usually lasts for about 6 months). There is another table for Phase Ratio <1 when majority of events occur during the first and last quarters.
